The traditional way of defining a leaf of a foliation passing through a point $p$ is to assume that $p$ does not belong to the singular set of the foliation and use the Frobenius theorem. I will give a weaker, and a more scheme theoretical, definition which contains leaves through singular points and it allows to have leaves of different codimensions. This seems to be useful when one deals with foliations of higher dimensions and codimensions.
